Ohakune
The small town of Ohakune is located at the southern gateway to the
Tongariro National Park
and is also known as the aprés ski capital of the North Island, and the Carrot Capital of New Zealand. Ohakune is a forestry and farming centre, and home to around 1400 people.
The Carrot Carnival and the Winter Mardi-Gras in June / July are fantastic annual events for family and friends, as are the many snow events and on-snow entertainment all winter long. Year round enjoy art festivals, local country fairs, flower shows and more.
Ohakune is an all-seasons destination but when it snows, this friendly little town really comes to life! Here at our
Ohakune holiday park and motel
, we looking forward to welcoming you at any time of the year!
